The episode begins with Nobita's mother preparing a fine meal in celebration of the twelfth anniversary of Nobita's father and hers wedding. At dinner, Nobita's mother and father have conflicting memories on who proposed first. They fight, and Doraemon takes Nobita back in time to find out just what happened. On the day of the proposal, they see Nobita's future father running late. To teach him a lesson, Nobita's future mother pretends to walk off, but decides to go back to him once it appears he has suffered long enough...
